CLUB NAME AND IDENTIFICATION

Our club is named Close Combat Martial Arts but may also be referred to as CCMA. The lead instructor is David Close.

PROFIT STATEMENT

Our club is run as a non-commercial entity, all collected income may be used or saved for the further provisions of club equipment, training and expenses, including rent of premises etc.

LEGAL REGISTRATION

Our club is not registered as a company formation and functions as an unincorporated association at this present time.

CCMA STUDENT AUDIENCE

CCMA provides classes to adults, young persons aged between 8 and 18 and Adults At Risk.

COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES

CCMA has a complaints procedure in place and will always strive to provide the best service to its students and associated community members. All complaints are dealt with confidentially and as a priority.

INSURANCE PROVISIONS:

INSTRUCTOR INSURANCE

CCMA always ensure that all instructors are fully insured. Our instructors use specialist instructor insurance provided by BMABA. A copy of any relevant insurance documentation is available on request.

STUDENT INSURANCE

CCMA always take our responsibility to safeguard members seriously. Accordingly, we always insure our students through the BMABA for member-to-member liability.

DBS CHECK STATUS

CCMA teaches adults and children and so all instructors and volunteers hold an enhanced disclosure which has been vetted and deemed to be acceptable by our safeguarding team and BMABA’s safeguarding team. INSTRUCTOR GRADE REQUIREMENTS

CCMA always ensure that our instructors are qualified to or above the minimum standard expected by BMABA. This is a Black Belt for Instructors or Red Belt for Level 1, Blue Belt for Level 2 for Assistants and Junior Instructors and Black Belt for Level 3 Instructors.

FIRST AID STATUS

CCMA takes the safety of its members seriously. All instructors are first aid trained to an acceptable standard and sufficient emergency first aid equipment is present at all classes and on-site at all times. A risk assessment and associated health and safety briefs are conducted prior to classes commencing.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP

CCMA takes its responsibilities to run a professional class seriously. Accordingly, we are registered with BMABA. Our membership number is 15188 and this may be verified at any point by visiting bmaba.org/verify. Any associated membership certification is available on request.

FEES & CHARGES

CCMA does not have any hidden costs or dishonest fee collections in place. our monthly subscriptions are payable via recurring card payment or direct debit, and receipts will be issued automatically. Our 3 subscription membership options include lessons in set classes of the week, BMABA membership, insurance, a grade colour belt, and a club T-shirt. A subscription is required to train after 1 free trial lesson. Gold Membership is £135 per month and includes 3 classes per week on set days. Silver Membership is £90 per month and includes 2 classes per week on set days. Bronze membership is £45 per month and includes 1 lesson per week on a set day. Please check any rates or charges before committing to training in case this has changed. You are NOT bound by any contract and may leave the club and discontinue training at any time and your subscription will be immediately cancelled. Your subscription reserves your place for the month and is non-refundable.

INDEPENDENCE STATUS

CCMA is associated with a professional association (BMABA) to ensure our standards are some of the highest available, however, we remain legally independent and are not submitted to any compulsory regulation or obligation under any of the above-named associations. Accordingly, it is our club’s responsibility to comply with local and national laws/regulations, and there is no recourse to our representing organisation in the event of any breach of law, regulation or protocol. We retain the right to be an independent club and govern ourselves by best practice whether we are inside or outside the membership/affiliation of any above-named governing bodies.

REPORTING OUR CLUB

There is no single regulatory body for all styles of martial arts in the United Kingdom. Accordingly, if you wish to report our club you are first of all asked to honour our complaints procedure which will detail how you may raise any complaints with us, and what action we will take. This complaints procedure will also detail any specific organisation that we are associated with, and instructions on making a complaint to that body. You may report us to our Association where applicable. Our Association is BMABA, however, your complaint may not be properly investigated if you have not followed initial guidance on making a complaint as per our complaints procedure.
