My first Vlog for Close Combat Self Defence, is a quick overview of the website and the content of each page. The Home page, the Facebook link, the News and Blog page, the Grading information page, the club Principles page, the FAQ (frequently asked questions) page and the Contact Us page are all briefly covered with a quick description of each, I will be covering the Grading Information, the club Principles and the FAQ pages in more detail in separate Vlog’s in the near future.
These 5 techniques Master Wong demonstrates are similar to the principles that I will be teaching.
I brought this topic up to Mark Dawes, Founder of NFPS Ltd. the company I trained and qualified with as a self defence instructor and here’s what he had to say on the matter, needless to say medical and fitness forms will be a requirement at the Close Combat Self Defence club for health and safety and liability reasons.
Here are 5 different muscle endurance exercises geared towards fighters. Develop shoulder, legs, core, and back endurance. Incorporate endurance training into your strength & conditioning. This way you can continue to fight throughout the rounds, even if you squeezed that guillotine choke to the point of exhaustion (remember to breath while applying a choke!)!
I have added 2 new pages to the club website, take a look if you’re interested…
This page is about the fundamental principles of being a self defence student, taken from traditional martial arts, but modernised to suit the reality based self defence system that we teach at Close Combat. The Lesson Principles are shown below that, they focus on the core self defence principles we adhere to when learning each area of the syllabus.
This page covers all the information regarding the Close Combat grading system, the grades and what they mean and an overview of the syllabus, students can get an idea of what to expect and can refer to this page at any time for information in between classes.
